GREENVILLE, S.C.—The South Carolina Football Hall of Fame (SCFHOF) President Kevin Jones and reigning Player of the Year Tajh Boyd was on hand today at the Clemson Pro Day to deliver the news that Vic Beasley is the 2014 SCFHOF Collegiate Player of the Year presented by Hales Jewelers.

Members of the Board and executive staff of the SCFHOF were also on hand for the announcement. South Carolina sports media, fans, and SCFHOF committees’ members and executives determined the vote. The result of that vote was Clemson’s senior defensive end and All-American Vic Beasley bringing in the most support. Sophomore wide receiver Pharoh Cooper of South Carolina and three-time FCS All-American senior linebacker Quinn Backus of Coastal Carolina finished second and third respectively.

Vic Beasley played a major part in leading the Clemson defense to being number-one in the nation in total defense, yards per play allowed and tackles for loss. Beasley, a native of Adairsville, Georgia, was chosen ACC Defensive Player of the Year by ACC Sports Media and Coaches as a senior, as his 11 sacks and 18.5 tackles for loss led the ACC. He finished his Clemson career as the all-time sack leader with 32.

The South Carolina Football Hall of Fame Collegiate Player of the Year presented by Hales Jewelers will be given out at the Class of 2015 Induction Ceremony to be held at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Greenville on April 16, 2015. Reigning Player of the Year Tajh Boyd will be on hand to start the tradition of presenting the South Carolina Football Hall of Fame exclusive jacket to incoming Player of the Year Vic Beasley.

The South Carolina Football Hall of Fame will hold its first annual Celebrity Golf, Skeet, and Spa Day in Greenville on April 17, 2015 in conjunction with the Class of 2015 Induction Ceremony on April 16th.
Tickets to the induction ceremony and the Greenville Celebrity event will be announced and on sale soon. You can become a voting member of the SCFHOF by going to and clicking on membership opportunities.

The Hall of Fame honors athletes, coaches, business and media professionals from the Palmetto State who created a historic and significant impact on college and/or professional football and helps promote and preserve the game of football and those who play it.
