Auburn OC: "Everything's problematic" about Deshaun Watson

by - Assoc. Editor -

Auburn offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee spoke on Thursday night at a booster club event in Brentwood, Tennessee and had impressive things to say about Heisman finalist Deshaun Watson.

"Everything's problematic about Deshaun," Lashlee said via the Birmingham News. "He's an unbelievable young man. I'm happy for him. He deserves all the success he's getting. Obviously, he presents a lot of problems. He's probably the odds-on favorite to win the Heisman, probably the No. 1 draft pick projected kid and all that. And it's all rightfully so."

Clemson junior quarterback Deshaun Watson finished third in the Heisman Trophy balloting last season and will be one of the favorites in 2016. Watson completed 333-of-491 passes for 4,104 yards and 35 touchdowns and also had 207 rushes for 1,105 yards and 12 scores this past season.

Watson became the first player in NCAA FBS history to throw for 4,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in the same season.

"He can hurt you with his feet; he can hurt you with his arm," Lashlee said. "He's got a big arm and can make all the throws. He's smart, he's a winner, he's tough. There's nothing not to like, but we're going to give it all we've got. I know Steele will have a good plan, and I'm glad they're playing at our place."

Auburn will face Clemson on Saturday, September 3 at 9 p.m. ET in Auburn, Alabama and it will be the 50th meeting between the two teams.
