will be suspended three games for his June arrest.

Lakip was arrested on June 6th for DUI Refusal and Possession of Cocaine (First offense) by the Clemson University Police Department.

The senior kicker is back on the team but did not get to participate during Thursday's scrimmage.

"He was here, but no we didn't work him," Swinney said about Lakip. "Ammon will miss the first three games. He is back on the team, and I know there has been a lot of conversation, but he will definitely be out these first three weeks, and then he will come back and have an open date and get back out and compete. Obviously we will have some performance with Huegel, Spence or whoever ends up being out there, and we will see what happens. That's consequences. He's a senior. Hadn't had any problems with him. He's been a solid guy and citizen since he has been here. Your seniors should be at their best and should know. He has done everything we have asked him to do so now he just has got his team punishment which is three games and then he will back full graces with the Tigers. If he wins the job back good for him. But I hope Greg goes out there and is 10-10 in the first three games so we will see what happens."

In other kicker news, Clemson walk-on Greg Huegel was named the starting placekicker against Wofford.

Huegel was 6-6 in field goals including a 53-yarder during Thursday's scrimmage.

"Can not say enough good things about Greg Huegel," Swinney said. "I've learned his name. I even know how to spell it. H-U-E-G-E- L. Really proud of him. As bad as he was the last time he was in the stadium, he didn't handle that well. He was impressive today. He had about four game winners. He kicked a 53-yarder to win the game right there at the end. As we start our game prep tomorrow, he is the guy that will start for us at kicker. He has earned that in camp. Proud of him. Spence competed hard but right now we are at a point we got to make decisions and move forward. Really pleased with what I have seen out of that young man so right now he gives us the best chance to win. Outside of the one day he had in this stadium he has really been outstanding. Happy for him. We will start making sure those reps are divvied up the way they need to be moving forward."
