CLEMSON, S.C. - Clemson placed four players on the 2015 All-ACC Academic baseball team. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must record a 3.0 GPA the previous semester and maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA during his academic career.

Junior lefthander Matthew Crownover (sports communication) and junior outfielder Steven Duggar (parks, recreation & tourism management) were both named to the All-ACC Academic team for the third time in as many years. Freshman infielder/outfielder Chase Pinder (sports communication) and sophomore infielder Eli White (financial management) were named to the All-ACC Academic team for the first time.

Crownover was a first-team All-American and ACC Pitcher-of-the-Year who had a 10-3 record, 1.82 ERA and .183 opponents' batting average in 109.0 innings pitched over 16 starts in 2015. He was first in the ACC in wins, third in ERA, fourth in innings pitched, fourth in strikeouts (108) and fourth in opponents’ batting average. His 1.82 ERA was the best mark by a Tiger since 1998 and the best mark by a Tiger starter since 1977, while his 108 strikeouts were the most by a Tiger since 1996. Crownover was drafted in the sixth round (No. 194 overall pick) by the Washington Nationals and signed in June.

Duggar was a Third-Team All-ACC selection who hit .304 with 56 runs, 12 doubles, one triple, five homers, 43 RBIs, a .432 on-base percentage, 54 walks and 10 steals in 61 starts in 2015. He tied for fifth in the nation in walks and led the team in runs, walks and sacrifice flies (8). Duggar was drafted in the sixth round (No. 186 overall pick) by the San Francisco Giants and signed in June.

Pinder was the primary starter at second base until his season ended due to a shoulder injury in May. He hit .256 with 18 runs, eight doubles, one triple, three homers, 26 RBIs, a .360 on-base percentage, 21 walks, six hit-by-pitches and two steals in 46 starts (35 at second base and 11 as the DH). He had a .970 fielding percentage, committing only five errors in 164 chances.

White was a Brooks Wallace Shortstop-of-the-Year Award Watch List member and a Third-Team All-ACC selection in 2015. He hit .297 with 44 runs, seven doubles, three triples, four homers, 29 RBIs, a .380 on-base percentage, 25 walks, seven hit-by-pitches and 11 steals in 61 starts at shortstop.
