4 Auburn players facing drug charges won't miss Clemson game |
Four Auburn football players Byron Cowart, Carlton Davis, Ryan Davis and Jeremiah Dinson, were arrested with second-degree possession of marijuana on April 30 but will not miss any regular season playing time including their home opener against Clemson.
“Those four young men made a mistake, we punished them, and they won’t miss any time that’s behind us,” Malzahn said during SEC media day via the Ledger-Enquirer. “They are four fine young men. They made a mistake, and I’m confident they won’t make it again.” “It’s the right thing to do,” Malzahn said. The four players have a court date set for July 21 and a misdemeanor drug charge carries a maximum sentence of one year in jail along with a $6,000 fine.
