Clemson Team Notes

*Clemson held Wake Forest to 119 yards of total offense and moved to #1 in the nation in that category heading into Saturday games. The Tigers are allowing just 252 yards per game.

*Clemson allowed just seven yards rushing, the second time this year Clemson has done that. The Tigers also allowed just seven yards rushing against South Carolina State. This marked the fifth time this year Clemson has allowed less than 100 yards rushing in a game.

*Clemson’s senior class now has 39 wins, tied for second best in Clemson history. They can tie the record with a win at Georgia Tech on November 15. The 1991 seniors also had 39. The 1990 seniors had a record of 40-8.

*Tonight was Clemson’s 25th straight win over an unranked opponent.

*This was the fourth time and second game in a row Clemson has allowed the opposition to gain less than 200 yards total offense. The Tigers have given up just 289 yards of total offense the last two games combined. Syracuse gained just 170 last week and Wake Forest had 119 this evening.

*Clemson has now won six straight games, all in ACC play. This is the second time in the last three years Clemson has had a six game ACC winning streak. The Tigers won their last seven league games in 2012. Clemson will have a chance to duplicate that feat at Georgia Tech on November 15.

*Clemson’s defense had five sacks and 13 tackles for loss. Clemson now has 91 tackles for loss for the year, a national best 10 per game. Clemson led the nation in that category last year.

*Wake Forest was 0-10 on third down conversions over the last three periods.

*Dabo Swinney tied the ACC record for wins by a league coach in his first seven years in the league. He now has a 58-25 record. Jerry Claiborne of Maryland also had 58 wins through seven years (58-23-2).

*Clemson is now 5-9 in Thursday night ESPN games, but has won four in a row.
