WATCH: Swinney jokes with Clemson president during groundbreaking

Clemson head football coach Dabo Swinney, athletic director Dan Radakovich, President Jim Clements and the Tiger mascot grabbed orange shovels on Friday and did the ceremonial digging of dirt to signify the inception of the new $55 million football complex.
