Venables on possibly leaving Clemson for a HC job |
Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables was asked on Tuesday during media interviews if he would be entertaining any potential head coach job openings shortly. "My focus is on us," Venables said. "It's really no comment. I'm not interested in any other jobs. I got a great job. I love what I am doing. I love where we at. I love who I am working for. Like Coach Swinney has said I think we are just getting started." Reporter: Any contact with your agent? "Nah," Venables said. "Today I got a great job. I hope I got it tomorrow." Reporter: What if Southern California called? "No," Venables laughed. "I don't think like that. You deal with things as they are put in front of you. I'm always a believer you are a week away from humility in this profession. Value what you have. Take advantage of the opportunities that you have now. There are thousands of coaches that would die to be in this seat, and I recognize that. I value the small part that I have in this program, and I am fighting for everyday."
