Swinney ranked #3 ACC Coach by Sporting News |
Sporting News has compiled their
rankings for the top ACC head coaches for 2015 and it has Clemson's head coach Dabo Swinney ranked #3 overall in the ACC behind only David Cutcliffe and Jimbo Fisher.
"The last four years have included 42 wins, an ACC championship, two BCS bowl games and the best four-year run in the history of the program," Sporting News said about Swinney's tenure. "Giving away the FSU game last season cost the Tigers a chance to play for another ACC championship. The development of sophomore QB Deshaun Watson could mean great things for the program over the next two seasons." Swinney is currently 61-26 (.701) in seven seasons (six full seasons) at Clemson with a 39-14 record (.736) in ACC regular-season games. The full ACC coach rankings were David Cutcliffe (#1), Jimbo Fisher (#2), Dabo Swinney (#3), Paul Johnson (#4), Bobby Petrino (#5), Frank Beamer (#6), Steve Addazio (#7), Dave Doeren (#8), Larry Fedora (#9), Al Golden (#10), Dave Clawson (#11), Pat Narduzzi (#12), Scott Shafer (#13) and Mike London (#14).
