Results of Day 1 of Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Challenge |
Greensboro, Ga. (April 27, 2015) – Ole Miss head football coach Hugh Freeze, Auburn head football coach Gus Malzahn, Auburn legend Bo Jackson, and former Maryland quarterback Scott McBrien took home victories in today's skills competitions at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Challenge charity golf tournament.
In the Long Drive Competition, Hugh Freeze took home the title with a 287-yard drive. In the Celebrity Division, Bo Jackson defeated three-time long drive champion Jon Barry with a drive of 331.5 yards. In the Closest to the Pin Contest, Gus Malzahn hit the 98-yard shot to 7'9" from the pin. Newcomer Scott McBrien's title-winning shot landed 8'2" from the pin. All four of the winners will receive $5,000 for the charity of their choice. The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Challenge is a significant contributor to the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl’s overall charitable and scholarship donations, which total more than $17.6 million since 2002, making the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl college football’s most charitable bowl game. Proceeds from the event will benefit endowed scholarships at the participating universities and charitable foundations selected by the coaches, benefiting a wide range of organizations throughout the Southeast.
