met with the media in the team room at the WestZone Friday afternoon to preview the start of fall camp. We will keep updating this thread as we go.

"It's a great day in the Swinney household because I had two teenagers starting high school football practice at Daniel and dad was starting football practice here at Clemson. And then I have 13 guys that have signed up to come play for you. It is just a sign of how things have changed with recruiting. These guys are all made of the right stuff and they are athletic and smart. It's a great day to be a Tiger because we get to get back on the grass today and continue a journey we started in January."

On Ray Ray McCloud

"I don't know how to classify Ray Ray. He is just a great football player and he has all the ability in the world to be a player at this level. He had a lot of options and we are glad he decided to join us."

On Garrett Williams

"We got the guy we wanted. He is a little over 230 pounds now and is just a great looking young man that comes from a great family. His dad played at Florida St. and was part of the puntrooskie play so it's only fitting his son comes and plays for us."

On Chad Smith

"Brent did a good job of recruiting and evaluating him. He has size, toughness, is athletic and very smart. He loves it, and he has a dynamic personality, too. He stacks up athletically with some of the best in the country."

On the size of this recruiting class

"We are about done. Recruiting is always a changing process. But things happen in football and you just don't know. There are a lot of different factors. But we are about done and have one or two spots left and we are going to call it a day and happy to do it. I don't have buyer's remorse, but for me I love the guys that we have. We evaluate and we rank and we have the guys we offer and we will try and recruit. But a couple of years ago we thought we were done and then we had a couple of guys back out on us."

On the new videos

"Recruiting never stops. Part of what we do that never gets noticed is that we have a lot of fun. We have a lot of fun on this staff. We are trying to capture some of the personalities and captures a different side of the coach. Like Coach Brooks, he is a pretty stern looking guy but he has a sense of humor and it is good to reflect that."

On the weigh-in

"We had a lot of guys that did a great job. They look great. They put on the right kind of weight. To see what some of these guys did with their bodies this summer is impressive. Stanton Seckinger and David Beasley were impressive and it is a commitment. You have to work to get your body ready for the highest level."

On Cole Stoudt

"It is a game of performance. All I can tell you is that when Cole has played he has performed well and he is confident. He had to win the job and he won the job and he is confident and had an outstanding summer. He is strong and confident. All of those things are positive and he has a sense of urgency to be the guy. But you have this young guy who is talented and has worked really hard, too. If you want to be the best you can't ever be satisfied. I think we have a great dynamic at that position that will produce great quarterback play. But as of right now I don't have any doubt that Cole will be the guy."

On Kaleb Chalmers

“A kid I’m really excited about. One of the best corners to come through our camp.”

Charone Peake

"He is good. He had a great summer. He had a little thing but should be back at full speed and we are confident he will be healthy. I don't have any doubt that we will need Charone Peake to have the kind of season we want to have."

Tyshon Dye

"He is going to be in a green jersey today. I am anxious to see him moving around. That is going to be good for him. He looks great. Leroy Hill has been a good resource for him because Leroy tore his Achillies in October of 2010 and he was full speed in March. He has been a good resource for Tyshon. That is just part of the process for him. I have no idea when he will be ready but he is doing great."
