SportsTalk with Bo Mattingly about his coaching past at Clemson and what he thinks Arkansas will need to do to compete at a high level in the SEC.
“Well, you’d like to get to the eight-win season. That’ll keep you employed for a long time. Eight wins or so kept me at Clemson for a long time and never had a losing season. I think Arkansas would be kind of similar. Bobby Petrino took them to fifth in the nation where they finished up one year. They were near the top of the SEC and national picture. They like it. Their fan base is hungry. They’ve got a great AD in Jeff Long. I think the potential is high and the cap is high. That’s a program that costs all the resources they have, and they’ve got a guy in control, Jeff Long, that knows what to do and how to do it, and a guy in Bret Bielema’s that’s been there before. I think that should be the expectation.”
