Watson on Clemson-SC rivalry: "It means everything"

by - Assoc. Editor -

Former Clemson standout Deshaun Watson never lost to in-state rival South Carolina during his three years in TigerTown.

Watson was asked recently by CampusLore what does beating South Carolina mean to Clemson fans.

"It means everything. You get to brag a whole year so coming in we were 0-5 and that was one of the things I told Coach Swinney when I committed," Watson said. "As long as I'm playing at Clemson University, I'm never losing to South Carolina. I don't care what the situation is. I'm not going to lose to them. You know I went 3-0 and that situation my freshman year playing on a torn ACL, and I told him, and I made that promise, and it came true."

Watson left Clemson making good on his promises and with a college degree. Look for an exciting 2018 season out of the Houston Texans with Watson sufficiently rehabbed from his torn ACL and fully immersed in the team's playbook.
