Watson drops out of 1st round in NFL.com's Mock Draft |
NFL.com released their
2017 NFL Mock Draft 4.0 and only
Mike Williams was projected in the first round out of Clemson. The big-time wide receiver prospect was projected No. 5 overall to the Tennessee Titans.
"The Titans are another team I could see pursuing a trade-back partner," NFL.com said. "If they stay at No. 5, Williams would provide Marcus Mariota with a true No. 1 receiver." In 2016, Williams had 98 receptions for 1361 yards and 11 touchdowns. He had 177 catches for 2727 yards and 21 touchdowns (and his degree) during his impressive collegiate career at Clemson. Deshaun Watson was not listed in the first round despite two quarterbacks projected in the Mock Draft with Mitchell Trubiskey (#25 overall) and Patrick Mahomes (#27 overall). The Top 10 picks in order were Myles Garrett, Solomon Thomas, Marshon Lattimore, Leonard Fournette, Mike Williams, O.J. Howard, Malik Hooker, Christian McCaffrey, Jonathan Allen, and Jamal Adams. ACC players in the first round projections included wide receiver Mike Williams (#5 overall), tight end David Njoku (#21 overall), running back Dalvin Cook (#23 overall), and quarterback Mitchell Trubiskey (#25 overall).
