The ACC and Youtube launch largest conference partnership

by -

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The ACC Digital Network announced today a new partner channel on YouTube that will enable fans to watch live and on-demand video created by the ACC Digital Network on the most popular digital video platform in the world. Fans can view, comment upon and share the programming by visiting youtube.com/accdigitalnetwork, or by searching for ACC Digital Network on YouTube.

"We are very excited to welcome the ACC to YouTube," said Frank Golding Director, North American Sports. "With such a deep and unparalleled collection of content, ACC fans around the world will be able to keep closer watch on the sports we love."

The deal marks the first and only official partnership between YouTube and a major collegiate conference to date. The ACC Digital Network, launched in 2011 by Silver Chalice and the ACC, produces daily coverage of the conference including highlights, news, expert analysis, behind-the-scenes access and interviews, historical content and coverage of all the conference’s championship events.

As part of the ACC’s commitment to the YouTube Partnership, the ACC Digital Network will deliver twenty (20) live events in Olympic sports. The fall live game schedule will be announced in the coming weeks. Also new to the ACC Digital Network programming line-up is a weekly live studio program on Saturdays throughout the Football and Basketball seasons. Through the live streaming, fans will have access to all the latest information on their school right up until the action begins on game day. In addition, the channel will feature condensed replays of the ACC Network productions of football and men’s basketball games.

“I’m tremendously pleased that the ACC Digital Network and YouTube will partner to showcase ACC content in a way that no other conference has done before,” said ACC Commissioner John Swofford. “The reach of YouTube creates a unique opportunity that allows our fans yet another way to experience ACC action, highlights and analysis.”

Silver Chalice is leading the efforts to create and distribute compelling, TV-quality ACC video content in the digital landscape. “We are excited about implementing the technological advances that YouTube brings to our partnership with live streaming tools and innovative social elements like Google Hangouts,” said Jason Coyle, COO of Silver Chalice. “As part of our partnership, we will be offering a series of Google Hangouts following select ACC game matchups for fans to directly interact with our analysts to create the ultimate interactive postgame show.”

The first ACC Digital Network Google Hangout will be on Monday, July 23rd (12:00-12:30 PM ET) from the ACC Football Kickoff in Greensboro. Media and fans are invited to watch the live hangout with Commissioner Swofford, ACC Digital Network Host Jeff Fischel, Head of YouTube Global and North America Sports Claude Ruibal and Frank Golding, former Wake Forest Quarterback Riley Skinner, and some other surprise guests. To join the Google Hangout, go to: www.youtube.com/accdigitalnetwork.
