Swinney updates Kelly Bryant injury

by - Assoc. Editor -

On his Sunday teleconference, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney gave an update on quarterback Kelly Bryant after he suffered a chest bruise against Georgia Southern on Saturday and didn't return to the game.

"He's doing good. He's much better," Swinney said. "We will get him back out there tomorrow. Probably put him in green (no contact)...really doesn't change anything for him because we don't hit our quarterbacks anyway.

Swinney said he believes Bryant will play Saturday against Georgia Tech.

"They were just very cautious with him," Swinney said. "I talked to him, and he was good last night and good today when they checked him out. Anything can happen, but he is at practice tomorrow. Barring anything crazy I don't see any reason why he can't play."

In other injury news, Swinney said the only other injury to report was Cade Stewart (hip bruise).

"Cade is a little better today," Swinney said. "We are hopeful with him as we go through the week."
