Swinney says offensive line has improved the most

by -

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney was asked after practice on Wednesday which position had improved the most during spring practice. His answer was the offensive line and that should encourage most Clemson fans since the Tigers graduated three lineman from last year's team.

"If I had to single out a position I would say our offensive line and that’s area we had a lot of concern coming into spring practice," said Swinney. "We feel like we have recruited well and have good players here, but when you graduate three very experienced starters it is a little cause for concern. [Tyler] Shatley has been tremendous. is practicing like a guy wants to be a great, great player. He’s got a lot fire in his belly now, very confident, very sure of himself now. His demeanor, whole body language, and swagger is so different where it was this time last year. Dalton FreemanDalton Freeman

…young guys like Guillermo, DeStefano, O.J. I think we are going to have a bunch of guys that are going to be able to compete hard between now and September to help us develop some really good depth there. David BeasleyDavid Beasley

is a guy who has really learned enough and can help us. He just has to commit physically this summer. He needs to drop about 15 pounds and I think he will be in a position to help us. "
