Swinney confirms Chad Morris will stay at Clemson

by -

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney confirmed in his Orange Bowl teleconference that offensive coordinator Chad Morris will be staying with the Tigers with a new agreement.

"Chad will be here and we're real exicted about that," said Swinney. "I didn't have any doubts about that. This is where he wants to be."

"He wants to be a BCS head coach at some point and he will be with us awhile. It was an agreement that was done today. Something we have been working on a few weeks, just a formality really."

Swinney did not mention the new contract amount, but reports say it will make Morris one of the highest paid assistants in the country at around $900,000 a year.
