Sammy Watkins leaves game with head injury

by - Assoc. Editor -

Los Angeles Rams receiver Sammy Watkins left Thursday night's game against the San Fransisco 49ers with a head injury midway through the fourth quarter.

Watkins scored his second touchdown of the game and landed hard on his head on the 13-yard scoring play. He received some treatment from the doctors on the sidelines and then walked without help to the locker room.

Rams head coach Sean McVay said after the game that Watkins will be placed in concussion protocol for his injury. Since the Rams played a Thursday night game, it should give Watkins enough time to be able to play in next week's game.

Watkins finished the game with six catches for 106 yards and two touchdowns and showed the burst and tremendous talent during his Clemson days.
