SC Botanical Gardens Update

by - Assoc. Editor -

From SC Botanical Gardens FB page:

Friends, we need your help. The South Carolina Botanical Garden has received unprecedented damage from flooding, well over $200,000.00 in infrastructure damage. This includes a devastating blow to its most significant collection and exhibit. The Natural Heritage Garden shelters more than 1000 varieties of native plants in their natural habitats. This is the heart and soul of our Garden. The Garden is and will remain a free destination for the roughly 400,000 visitors we receive annually. But we need your help to recover. Insurance is not going to cover any of the damage we sustained and we need support from the community to rebuild. Please consider a donation to the Garden, just go to our website www.clemson.edu/scbg. Every dollar donated will go directly into repairing the damage and rebuilding a place for our families and friends to enjoy, learn and experience what our wonderful state naturally is. Please share and repost this request, please suggest your friends and family share it and like our Facebook page. We will continue to update you here as often as we can on how the work progresses. We will update you on volunteer assistance opportunities. If we all share and if everyone helps, even a small amount, we will emerge greener and better than ever.

Check out here how to donate or volunteer your time
