Report: Clemson will host Georgia State in 2014 |
According to the AJC, Clemson and Georgia State will play next year in Death Valley. Georgia State University is a public research university in downtown Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Founded in 1913.
It will be the first football matchup between both of these schools. Preliminary 2014 Clemson schedules had Clemson playing non-conference teams: Georgia, Coastal Carolina, Central Michigan, and South Carolina. The Tigers open the season on the road at Georgia on Aug. 30 and then return home to host Coastal Carolina on Sept. 6. It’s another in series of big-money, big-boy games for the Panthers, who are already scheduled to play at Washington on Sept. 20, 2014 in exchange for $900,000. The Tigers will pay the Panthers $700,000. The date of the game hasn’t been determined. Georgia State already has games lined up this year in coach Trent Miles’ first season at West Virginia (Sept. 14) and at defending national champion Alabama (Oct. 5). Georgia State will receive guarantees totaling $1.25 million for those games.
