President Barker surgery update

by -

This was a letter that was sent to Clemson faculty and students on Monday afternoon:

Dear Clemson,

I write to give you an update on my condition and progress. I was able to walk a lap around the ICU yesterday! I will be moving to a private room today, and I plan to do more walking in the coronary care unit. Visitation will continue to be limited to family. The doctors are pleased with my progress, but they advise that it will take some time to heal. I am beginning my rehab work, and I plan to give it my best.

I have received outstanding care in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care unit. We have been impressed by the professionalism and compassion of the medical providers here.

The well wishes, prayers and encouragement mean everything to us. I’m looking forward to returning to TigerTown. Until then, Mac's and Mookie are holding down the fort at the President's Home.

I will be back in touch with another update after I am discharged.

Sincerely,

Jim Barker
