Orange Bowl had $228 million impact for South Florida |
Last year's Capital One Orange Bowl and other events that were part of the 2015-16 Orange Bowl Festival made a $228 million impact on the South Florida region according to a study from Rockport Analytics. The events brought 80,000 fans to the area who booked 128,000 hotel rooms.
Also, an estimated 1,910 full and part-time jobs were generated in South Florida. "In addition to generating significant economic impact, the public's support of the game and our events enable the Orange Bowl to give back to our community," said Eric Poms - the Orange Bowl Committee's CEO - in a news release. Clemson defeated Oklahoma 37-17 on December 31 in the College Football Playoff Semifinals to reach the College Football title game.
