Louisville RB out for the season |
Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino announced on Monday that backup senior running back Jeremy Smith is out for the season with a "lower extremity" injury (toe) that he suffered in practice last Thursday.
The 6-foot-2, 227-pound bruiser ran five times for eight yards against Purdue. Smith did not play against North Carolina as Reggie Bonnafon and Malik Williams took the snaps at running back. For his career, Smith has 122 rushes for 660 yards and 11 rushing touchdowns. In 2016, he had 60 rushes for 270 yards and three touchdowns. In 2015, he had 57 rushes for 382 yards and eight touchdowns. Louisville will more than likely try to get him a medical redshirt since he only played in one game in 2017.
