Clemson fans are feeling pretty excited after watching their team manhandle Kent State 56-3 last week. The Tigers moved up two spots in the two major national polls to a lofty No. 3 ranking.
National media pundits are re-jumping on Clemson's bandwagon as USA Today has a new prediction of Clemson vs. Ohio State in the Rose Bowl for the College Football Playoff semifinals. The other semi-final contest had Alabama vs. Oklahoma with a championship game featuring heavyweights Ohio State vs. Alabama. "Clemson now becomes the favorite to win the ACC and take one of the four spots when December selections are revealed," USA Today said. "Kelly Bryant looked sharp as Deshaun Watson's replacement, though more will be known after the Tigers host Auburn on Saturday." If these extremely early projections become a reality, Clemson will make the prestigious playoff three straight seasons. It's premature to get too excited about that as Clemson has a tough home contest on Saturday against a revenge-minded Auburn squad. In case you were wondering, Clemson's in-state rival South Carolina was predicted to play Texas in the exciting AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
