ESPN analyst and college football commentator Kirk Herbstreit released his top four schools on Twitter on Monday and had a top four of Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, and Penn State after the first week of action. His next two schools in his personal rankings were Michigan and USC.

"Can't believe how good these games were this opening weekend!" Herbstreit posted. "Couldn't ask for much more. The good news? Week 2 is right around the corner!"

Before the season, Herbstreit had Alabama, Ohio State, Florida State, and USC as his four preseason picks to make the upcoming college football playoff.

Clemson won 56-3 against an overwhelmed Kent State in Death Valley on Saturday afternoon. This Saturday's primetime game between Clemson and Auburn in Death Valley should be a much tougher and compelling test for the home team.
