Former Clemson WR signs offer with Bucs |
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced on Monday that former Clemson wide receiver
Adam Humphries has signed a one-year qualifying offer with the team. He will be a free agent in the spring of 2018.
Humphries had an impressive 55 catches for 622 yards and two touchdowns as the team's No. 2 receiver and primary slot receiver in 2016. He was also was the main punt returner last season returning 24 punts with a 9.9-yard average. In 2015 in 13 games, he had 27 catches for 260 yards (9.6 ypc) and a touchdown in his rookie season. The undrafted rookie and Clemson fan favorite earned a free agent contract after dazzling the Bucs' coaching staff in a two-day tryout back in May 2015. He was also impressive during the preseason as he led the team with nine catches for 139 yards and a touchdown. The former Dorman high school product had 127 receptions for 1,097 yards and three touchdowns while at Clemson.
