Deon Cain writes message to Clemson, formally declares for NFL draft |
Clemson receiver
Deon Cain's intentions to leave early for the NFL were revealed last week by Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney. Formally announcing his draft intentions Monday, Cain had a message for Clemson coaches, teammates and fans.
"I will forever reminisce on the exciting moments I've experienced through my three years of being a Tiger," Cain wrote in a ClemsonFB Twitter video. "It's been a fun journey with my brothers and coaches...Travelling all over the states winning games and creating a winning culture in DEATH VALLEY. Going to miss running down The Hill on those rocking Saturday night games. Best fans in nation, thank y'all for your support." Cain led Clemson in receiving yards (734) and touchdown receptions (6) this season, logging 58 catches. The Tampa, Florida product totaled 20 touchdown catches over three seasons. "I want to thank God and Coach Swinney and the rest of the Clemson football staff for giving a passionate kid from Tampa FL, an opportunity to accomplish my goals and dreams," Cain said. "I'm thankful for the people and friends I've made and met here and the fun times we shared. Most importantly I want to thank my family for their support and making sacrifices for me. "After praying and talking to my family and Coach Swinney I have decided to declare for the #2018NFLDraft. What an honor to be a Clemson Tiger and I will forever be a Tiger. As I close this chapter, I'm prepared as a man and physically ready for the next chapter #GodAboveAll...Once a Tigers, always a Tiger, keep the wave going #GoTigers". "Going to miss running down The Hill on those rocking Saturday night games. Best fans in nation, thank y'all for your support..."
To Deon Cain, a big time playmaker & another member of #WRU, we say good luck in the 2018 @NFL Draft.
