Clemson vs. Boston College Notes

At Alumni Stadium, Chestnut Hill, MA

September 29, 2012

Team Notes

*Clemson holds a 24-21 lead at halftime at Boston College. The Tigers scored 10 in the first quarter and 14 in the second. Clemson has scored in every quarter with the exception of the third period against Ball State.

*Clemson had scored touchdowns on each of its first two possessions in three consecutive games heading into today. But the Tigers failed to score on their first possession today. They did go on to score a field goal and a touchdown on their second and third possessions.

*Clemson is playing its seventh game away from home in its last nine. It is the first time Clemson has played seven out of nine away from home since a stretch covering the 1967-68 seasons. After today, Clemson will have five of its last seven at home with road games at Wake Forest and Duke.

*Clemson’s defense had allowed just one of five fourth down conversions heading into today. But BC was 2-3 in the first half, including a 31-yard touchdown pass to take a 21-17 lead with 4:12 left in the half.
