Clemson soccer commit wins Florida POTY

Montverde senior midfielder Thales de Mello Moreno, who has signed to play soccer at Clemson University next year, has been named the Gatorade Player of the Year for Florida.

His selection means he is eligible to compete for Gatorade's national player of the year.

That award will be announced later this month.

Moreno had 18 goals and had 10 assists this past season for the Eagles (25-0-1), and ranked No. 1 nationally by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, MaxPreps.com and EliteSoccerReport.com.
