pitched 7.0 strong innings to lead Clemson to a 7-5 victory over Gardner-Webb at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Wednesday night. The Tigers improved to 20-18, while the Runnin’ Bulldogs fell to 17-20.

Schmidt (1-1) earned the win by allowing just four hits, one run and one walk with three strikeouts. Jeremy Walker (1-3) suffered the loss, as he yielded seven runs (three earned) on nine hits in 5.0 innings pitched.
