From Fox News:

A boil water advisory was issued after a major leak left thousands of people in Anderson and Pickens counties without service Thursday morning.

Brian Bates, of Anderson Regional Joint Water System, said the leak started at 4 a.m. at the Clemson booster station located just off Interstate 85 in Anderson. He said that within two hours the storage tanks that feed water to several towns were dry.

By about 5:30 or 6 o'clock, we had lost five million gallons of water and pressure started dropping throughout the system," said Scott Willett, executive director of the water system.

Customers in Clemson, including the university, Pendelton and Sandy Springs, including the Michelin plant, were without water, Bates said.
