Clemson Track & Field Announces Class of 2013 Signees

by -

CLEMSON, SC – Clemson track & field has officially signed 14 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent from the class of 2013 – seven for the 10th-ranked women’s team and seven for the men’s program.

Quotes on the men’s and women’s classes from Interim Director of Track & Field Shawn Cobey:

“We really addressed some areas of need with these two signing classes. On the women’s side, we lose a large senior class that has been vital to the success of our program the last four years. But we have signed some outstanding pieces to help cope with the graduation of those student-athletes.

“The consistent theme with both classes is versatility. We not only signed some of the best jumpers in the country, but also ones who have the ability to help in the sprints and hurdles as well. When you add current freshman Mimi Land to these additions, our jumps crew looks to have a strong foundation in place. We signed some very solid young distance runners. It was also good to add some vaulters and throwers on the men’s side. Those were two areas of need. Overall, we are very pleased with the results of the signing period.”
