Cheap tickets still available for Orange Bowl |
From Miami Herald:
“Orange Bowl is typically our lowest attended in terms of bowl games, and this year it is the same,’’ said Anbritt Stengele, president of Sports Traveler, a Chicago firm that sells tickets and travel packages for major athletic events. “There are hundreds and hundreds of tickets available.” A number of factors are making this even more of a buyer’s market for Orange Bowl tickets. A weak economy has fans across the country thinking twice before they spend thousands of dollars to see their alma maters play in a game that brings bragging rights but no national title.
On stubhub.com, the world’s top scalping site, Orange Bowl seats were selling for as little as $11 Tuesday afternoon. At the official resale board on the Orange Bowl’s homepage, the prime seats on the 50-yard line could be had for less than $300 — a significant discount, given a comparable seat for next week’s national championship game in New Orleans costs about $4,000.
