Bud Foster: Clemson 'a booger' to prepare for

by -

Virginia Tech defensive coordinator Bud Foster is very familiar with Chad Morris's Clemson offense after two meetings last season. Foster said on Monday that no one has been able to stop the Tigers this year not even Florida State and called the Tigers a "booger to prepare for."

“No. 1, it’s a unique offense,” Foster said. “It’s not your typical spread offense. It’s almost like it’s a single-wing and spread mixed in a little bit. You do that with dynamic athletes, and it’s a pain to prepare for right now. They’ve played some pretty good people that have had a hard time stopping them. To have that kind of offense, with those dynamic athletes, it’s a booger to prepare for.”

“We’ve got to do a good job of eliminating explosive plays. The first game last year down here we didn’t give up a big play until the end of the game. I called something trying to mix something up and they popped. The championship game was a close game until they popped and got a couple of plays on us, a couple of double moves and that type of thing. Those are the things we’ve got to eliminate.

“We want to make them have to drive it and see if they’re consistent enough to do that.”
