Bowden: ACC Football has not upheld their end of the bargain |
Former Clemson head coach Tommy Bowden stopped by a Charlotte radio station to discuss ACC football.
“There is reason for concern from a perception standpoint. Perception has a lot to do with recruiting. Recruiting is the name of the game. The ACC, from a perception standpoint nationally, has kind of slipped to that fifth slot behind the SEC, Big 12, Pac-12 and Big 10. They have a lot of soul searching to do from a credibility standpoint, marketing standpoint, and doing something credible on the field. But I think there should be concern because the ramifications will filter down in the recruiting process and maybe continue to create some separation between the other four and maybe the Big East. “ “I think football has not upheld their end of the bargain so you are looking somewhere to throw blame so you push it up to the commissioner John Swofford and their philosophies. “
