Auburn QB: "I will never get sacked 11 times again"

Clemson's vaunted defense is even getting mentioned at SEC Media Days.

The Clemson defense manhandled Auburn for 11 sacks and 14 tackles for loss in the 14-6 win over Auburn last season. It was the most sacks by Clemson since 2004 and one short of the school record.

It was a defensive masterpiece for Venables' Tigers and something that Auburn signal-caller Jarrett Stidham is still having to discuss a year later.

"I'm glad Clemson happened," Stidham said at SEC Media Days on Thursday. "I'm glad I got sacked 11 times because that's never going to happen to me again, I promise you that."

Stidham thinks that he will be able to change plays at the line of scrimmage better leading to fewer sacks.

"It was good. I learned a lot," Stidham said. "I like to look at things, whether if it's Clemson, LSU, SEC Championship, Bowl game, there's a lot of things you can learn from and I learned a lot from the Clemson game. I can promise you I will never get sacked 11 times again."

Honestly, this is not much of a promise since he won't get the opportunity to face Clemson's defense again unless they somehow meet up in the College Football Playoff. It's really easy to say it wouldn't happen when you know the highly regarded Clemson defensive line is not on your schedule anymore.
