by -

From Hokie Journal:

"I have confirmed with multiple sources that Seth Greenberg's top asst, James Johnson, is leaving Hokies for a similar position at Clemson."

Johnson recently completed his fourth season as an assistant coach with the Hokies. Since joining the Tech staff, the Hokies have compiled an 87-50 overall record.

This season, he was named as one of the top 50 assistants by Clark Francis of Hoop Scoop for Basketball Times.

He joined the Hokies following two seasons as an assistant at George Mason. He also worked as an assistant coach at Penn State, College of Charleston, Longwood and Ferrum, as well as one season at Hargrave Military Academy.
