Alabama builds lead on Clemson in AP poll |
The Associated Press top 25 voters had the most faith in Clemson after three weeks – 15 first-place votes cast for the Tigers after the 47-21 win at Louisville.
The issues over three-plus quarters versus Boston College – combined with a dominating Alabama road conference win – shook that confidence up a bit. The Tigers received eight first-place votes, Oklahoma one, while Alabama built up to 52 votes. The Crimson Tide won 59-0 at Vanderbilt, Clemson won 34-7 at home over BC and Oklahoma beat Baylor 49-41 on the road. Like the Coaches Poll, Virginia Tech moved up one spot to No. 12. Miami is the top-ranked Florida program now at No. 14, while FSU dropped out of the poll after falling to 0-2. AP Top 25 Week Four Rank Team Record Pts Prv 1. Alabama (52) 4-0 1515 1 2.
