12 Tigers listed on Athlon's 2017 All-Conference Team |
Athlon Sports released its
Preseason All-ACC team for 2017 recently and 12 Clemson football players made the list. The projections were based on how well the players would perform this season, not their past accolades and stats.
On offense, wide receiver Deon Cain, offensive tackle Mitch Hyatt, and offensive guard Tyrone Crowder were selected on the first team while running back Tavien Feaster and wide receiver Hunter Renfrow was listed on the fourth team. Defensive lineman Christian Wilkins and defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence were selected for the first team, defensive end Clelin Ferrell and linebacker Kendall Joseph were named to the second team, and defensive back Ryan Carter and safety Van Smith were picked as fourth team selections on defense. Kicker Greg Huegel was selected as a third-team specialist.
