Moore's Commitment Comes At A Good Time

by - Correspondent -

Clemson picked up its sixth verbal commitment Saturday morning with Rennie Moore, Jr. Moore had been leaning heavily to Clemson for the last couple of weeks, but the timing of his commitment could not have been better.

Moore’s commitment comes on the verge of all the summer camps kicking off, including the Nike Camp at Clemson. The staff now has momentum going into the camps.

There are some players, who have Clemson very high on their list (i.e. Mason Cloy, Stanley Hunter, and Scotty Cooper). Clemson has done very well the last two summers picking several big time verbal commitments.

If you have followed recruiting, commitments tend to go in spells. You have the three or four, who commit prior to the spring. The next phase comes in the summer.

Moore gave Clemson a boost to the summer phase with his commitment. Recruits pay attention to other recruits, and where they are going, in fact maybe more this year than ever. Look at the recruiting of Greg Little, Quintin Richardson, etc., a case where players build relationships or notice where quality players are going.

Willy Korn was the first verbal commitment for 2007, and he has had a very positive impact on the start of this class, and his best work is yet to come. The staff is in position to have yet another strong summer in 2006.
