Is this the year the Tigers take it all in Omaha?

Clemson is playing well going into Omaha. The starting pitching will have to be better. You will not last in Omaha, if your starting pitching does not make out of the third inning. Timely hits and the bullpen will be keys.

What is the format in Omaha?

The format in Omaha is similar to the ACC tournament, except the final is a best two out of three. Clemson cannot play Rice, Miami, Georgia, or Oregon State unless it is in the championship. Theoretically, you can lose two games in Omaha and still win the National title. Teams that start off 2-0 will have to beat twice by the same team to advance to the championship series.

Any truth to the rumor that Ryan Houston could announce this weekend?

I have not been able to confirm anything to that effect. Clemson is a strong factor with Houston, but I think the Tigers need to stretch this one out a little longer to win it. Houston really likes Clemson, and the longer he stays uncommitted, the better I like Clemson’s chances.

What happened with Cliff Matthews, we were the early favorite?

South Carolina has struck a chord with Matthews. Clemson has done a really good job with Matthews. Some players just find a fit with a one school, and there is not much the other schools can do.
