July's Most Wanted: Part Two

by -

6) Reshad Jones: Jones is one of the top safeties in the nation. Being an Atlanta prospect, he is in the hands of Burton Burns. Burns knows the Atlanta area very well, and has put Clemson in the hunt. Jones has stated he would like to leave the state of Georgia. Jones will have his pick from virtually any school in the country. Southern Cal, Oklahoma, Texas, etc., all are involved with Jones. Clemson was able to beat the big boys for Antonio Clay last February, they will have to do it again if they want Jones.

7) Richard Jackson: Jackson is the Tigers top priority at kicker. We reported earlier on Tuesday, we believe he is very close to committing to Clemson. Jackson has a strong leg and would most likely make his initial impact at punter. Clemson was recruiting Brad Upson, but they informed Upson Sunday evening they would not be offering. We expect a decision from Jackson very soon.

8) Kendrick Johnson: Johnson skyrocketed to the #1 receiver on the board with his performance at the Clemson camp. He was also very close to committing to Clemson at the end of the camp. Johnson has cooled slightly, but he is still leaning to Clemson. Johnson runs and catches very well. Clemson is only taking two wide receivers in the class and they can afford to be very choosy on who they take during the summer.

9) Jocques Crawford: Crawford also put himself in very good position with his performance at Clemson's camp. He edged out JoJo Cox for the top spot at running back on the board. Crawford is good friends with Phillip Merling, and says Clemson is his leader. He has a good combination of speed and power.

10) Deantwan Whitehead: The very talented defensive end prospect rescinded his commitment to Clemson, but still has the Tigers rated very highly. Georgia and Auburn are the other major players with Whitehead. Dabo Swinney will stay on top of Whitehead, along with Marion Hobby. Ramon McElrathbey had a very similiar situation to Whitehead last year, and he signed with Clemson. Whitehead will take his official visits before making a final decision.

We will conclude July's Most Wanted on Thursday!
