What recruiting implications will the win Saturday have?

The implications will not likely be seen in this year’s class. There is only two prospects the Tigers are going head-to-head against South Carolina with, and that is Clifton Geathers and Darius Gaither. Early in the year, it appeared Tennessee would be the main competition for Geathers and Gaither. Now, it does not appear Tennessee will be big factors with Geathers or Gaither. It appears Geathers will not qualify, and he may have to go JUCO.

The win will help Clemson in the class of 2007. The class of 2007 in the state of South Carolina is absolutely loaded. It was big for the Tigers to beat South Carolina this season. South Carolina would have gained some big momentum had they opened the Spurrier Era with a win against Clemson.

Did you know James Davis would be this big of an impact player?

To be honest, no. I did not see Davis overtaking Merriweather this season. Davis has been phenomenal. He has a chance to be one of the best that has ever carried the football at Clemson. He is the best running back to wear a Clemson uniform since Terry Allen. He is a special talent that will benefit from five starters returning on the offensive line. There is very little doubt in my mind that had Davis not been injured, he would have rushed for 1,000 yards this season.

What bowl does it look like the Tigers will be going to?

Normally, after the South Carolina game, it is pretty clear what bowl the Tigers would be headed to. However, it is not clear and will not be clear until after the ACC Championship game. The possibilities are Peach, Champs Sports, Meineke Car Care, MPC Computers, Las Vegas, Music City, EV1.net (Houston). I will be surprised if the Tigers fall past Charlotte. Had Miami not lost, I felt confident the Tigers were headed to Orlando. The Tigers are still very attractive to Orlando. South Carolina is headed to the Peach Bowl, in my opinion, and I do not feel the Peach is very likely scenario for the Tigers. We are going to stay on top of the Tigers bowl future and release any news as it comes in.
