The Tigers earned their 17th win of the season in Blacksburg on Wednesday night. It was the second road win in ACC play this season. The Tigers defeated Georgia Tech earlier in Atlanta. Wednesday night was a big night for the Tigers, here are a few notes following Wednesday:

- With Florida State's win over Duke, the Tigers now can finish no higher than eighth in ACC play. The Tigers will play either Virginia or Maryland in the opening round of the ACC tournament. The winner will face Duke on Friday. Maryland plays Virginia on Saturday, and Clemson will get the loser of Saturday's game next Thursday in Greensboro.

- The win gave Oliver Purnell his 299th career win, and he will go for 300 on Senior Day Saturday at 2 pm against Georgia Tech.

- At 17 wins, the Tigers should receive at least one home game in the NIT. If the Tigers can win two more games, they will have a pretty good case to host all the way to New York. The NIT committee does not always reward the teams that are most deserving of home games, but by our estimation the Tigers will have a strong case for at least one home game.
