Ray Ray McCloud
Ray Ray McCloud The 4-star athlete out of Tampa (FL) Sickles has been favoring Clemson, Florida and UCLA. He announced during Nike’s The Opening his decision date, but according to his father, Ray Ray McCloud, Jr. his son has yet to make up his mind on where he will be playing college football. Many of the national pundits have said that Florida is the team to beat for the 5-9, 176-pound prospect’s service, but his father said that all of his favorite teams are pretty even as of Tuesday afternoon. “They are all right there - everyone is at a seven or eight,” McCloud, Jr. told TigerNet Tuesday.” Clemson has a good shot. He's just on the fence. He just needs this last little run this week to talk on the phone with coaches and stuff like that. He knows his top three or four.” Despite all of the reports that are circulating claiming that McCloud has made up his mind, his father said that is simply not the case – there is a lot left to be done before a decision will be reached. “I know y'all do this a lot, but he really doesn't know where he's going to go,” McCloud, Jr. said. “We still have phone calls to make to coaches at the schools that he's really interested in. He wants to go through some last minute details. He's not decided. Monday he will be decided. He's just doing his due diligence now just to see. He kind of likes three or four of these schools almost the same, if you wanted to say that.” As a parent of a highly touted prospect, McCloud, Jr. is trying to give his son all of the resources and information that he needs to make an informed decision. “As his parents, we're just trying to help him weigh his options, write down certain things - what's good about this place, what do you like, stuff like that,” he said. “It's hard as a parent because you are trying to give them the best advice that you can, but at the end of the day it's his decision.” The younger McCloud’s relationship with running backs coach
Tony ElliottTony Elliott “Coach Elliott really got him going on Clemson,” he said.” He's been recruiting him hard. He knows that he would be happy. The atmosphere of the place. It's a great school. The love of the city and the school.” However, it’s the Florida Gators that will get the final visit from McCloud as he will attend their Friday Night Lights program on July 25th. As a junior, McCloud rushed for 2,316 yards and 26 touchdowns and hauled in nine passes for 192 yards and a touchdown.
