One of 2016's top defensive backs likes all Clemson has to offer

View Full Profile ’s high school football camp and came away impressed with the atmosphere at Clemson as well as the coaching staff.

“I just wanted to visit, tour the campus a little bit and get the feel of things,” Carter told TigerNet recently. “I know that when I come up to Clemson that it will be nice and like a family tradition up there and that they will treat me like family.”

View Full Profile gave Carter (6-0, 185) a little insight into what he could expect should he choose to come to Clemson.

“It was great working with him,” Carter said. “He has a different coaching style from all of the other coaches that I've worked with. I really liked his coaching style and I think that I would fit right in with his coaching style and with their defense.”

As good as the visit was for camp, Carter has only seen Clemson play on television and has already picked the game he wants to see live and in person.

“I really liked the visit. The visit was outstanding,” Carter said. “I'm looking forward to coming back up there for a game. I will definitely be there for Clemson and South Carolina.”

Carter already holds offers from Clemson, Alabama, Mississippi St., Texas A&M, and Tulane. He knows exactly what he’s looking for in his dream school.

“First things first, it's going to come down to academics,” he said. “That will be first. What I want to major in and things like that because I want to major in sports management. Next will be coaching. Then how I feel there at the school - if I'm more comfortable at Clemson than I am somewhere else.”

However, he won’t make a decision until he has had a chance to talk it over with his family.

“I've got to talk to my mother and grandmother about it,” he said.

Carter does it all for his Kentwood team – offense, defense, and special teams – and he has no doubt that he can be any kind of player his team or coach needs him to be.

“I can be any kind of cat that a coach wants me to be,” he said. “My feet are good. I have good speed. I can play any style.”

During his freshman and sophomore seasons, Carter carried the ball 165 times for 1725 yards – a 10.5 yard per carry clip – and 22 touchdowns; caught 17 passes for 496 yards – a 29.2 yard per catch average – and 3 touchdowns; completed 50-of-93 passes for 847 yards and seven scores; tallied 44 tackles and one interception on defense; and connected on 15-of-20 extra point attempts.
