, Jr. first became acquainted with Clemson on New Year’s Eve in the Georgia Dome, and the more he has learned about the Tigers, the higher they have risen on his list.

The 2015 offensive tackle/defensive end from Cincinnati (OH) Colerain knew very little about the Tigers when he watched them beat LSU in the Chick-fil-A Bowl, and little did he know that within a few short months and a couple of trips to campus that Clemson would become one of his favorite schools.

“The first time I saw Clemson was in the bowl game when I was there to watch my cousin (LSU running back) Spencer Ware,” Brown told TigerNet last week. “I didn’t know much about Clemson then. I visited Clemson for the first time March 29th and was offered by (Clemson defensive line coach) Marion HobbyMarion Hobby

’s camp, but it is his relationship with Hobby that has put Clemson near the top of his list.

“It was awesome because I got to work with Coach Hobby,” Brown said. “I got a sense for him and I was able to see how we would match up. It was good to see how he coaches his players. Because of him, Clemson is in my list of top schools right now.”

Brown spent much of his time with Hobby, but made a point to get an early start one morning to take in one of Clemson’s team workouts.

“Coach Hobby is a good coach. I hung out with him the rest of the day, and then I got to see him a little bit the next morning,” he said. “I went out to watch the Clemson football team work out at 5:30 in the morning and that was interesting to see. I am looking at Clemson hard right now.”

In addition to spending time with the coaching staff, Brown was able to spend time with current and future Clemson players.

“I love the coaches, and the players on the team are pretty cool,” he said. “I got to meet and hang out with players like Sammy Watkins and Jordan Leggett and I got to meet Deshaun Watson Deshaun Watson

.”

As a junior, Brown sports a 3.2 GPA and he said that academics are just as important as athletics when it comes to making his college decision.

“For me, the perfect school is going to be a balance of the coaches and academics,” he said. “I know Clemson has a great academic school, and right now I am trying to build that relationship with the coaches.”

Brown claims offers from all over the country including: Arizona St., Baylor, Boston College, Florida, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kansas St., Louisville, LSU, Michigan St., Missouri, North Carolina, and UCLA, among others.

Despite not claiming a list of favorites, Brown said that Clemson is definitely among his favorites.

“Clemson is in my ‘tops’ right now,” he said. “I don’t have a specific list, because I am going to wait before I release any type of a list. But Clemson is definitely near the top for me.”
