Phase Three

Each year I look forward to what I call each of the five phases of the off-season in college football.

First is the recruiting season wrapping up with signing day which February.

Second is spring practice which usually ends in April.

The third began for me this weekend. This is the release of the pre-season magazine.

The fourth is the release of EA Sports' College Football video game.

The final phase of the off-season is the beginning of fall camp.

This weekend marked the beginning of the third phase as I picked up a copy of Lindy's Southeastern Preview. Below are some notes from what Lindy's thinks about Clemson and some ACC notes:

Tigers Number 7

Lindy's has Alabama number one. The Crimson Tide is followed by Ohio State, Stanford, Oregon and Texas A&M. Georgia is sixth, Clemson is seventh, LSU is eighth, South Carolina is ninth and Louisville is tenth.

47. Maryland
