Scoring Offense
In 2010, the year before Morris arrived at Clemson, the Tigers averaged 24 points per game. In 2011 that number improved to 33.6 points per game. Last season the points per game improved to 41.0 which was sixth in the country.
Can that number improve in 2013? I am not sure we can expect another season of 40 points per game. With the loss of

Rushing Offense
In 2010 the Tigers averaged 139 yards per game on the ground. In Morris' first season that number improved to 159 yards per game. Last year it climbed to 191 yards per game which is the highest at Clemson since 2006 when the offense averaged 218.
Can this number improve in 2013? This will be hard to improve upon because of the loss of Ellington, however Boyd has become a better runner and this number is still obtainable.
Passing Offense
The last season before Chad Morris Clemson averaged 196 yards a game passing. In year one it increased to 282 yards per game. Last season it jumped again to 322 yards.
Can this number improve in 2013? Morris, Boyd, Hopkins and Watkins have had a lot to do with that improvement and Hopkins is gone. I do think that Watkins has another huge season and Boyd is set to break more records. Clemson was 13th in the country in passing last season and I think there is room for slight improvement here.
Total Offense
Clemson averaged 335 yards a game in total offense in 2010. In 2011 the Tigers increased that number to 441 yards. Total offense jumped to 513 yards last season.
Can this number improve in 2013? This will be hard to improve upon as the Tigers were ninth in the country last season, but I can see a slight improvement here.

arrived at Clemson in 2011. In Venables' first season the Tigers had less talent but allowed 156 yards per game on the ground.
Can this number improve in 2013? Absolutely. With talent returning from the front seven, I expect this number to get much better.
Pass Defense
In 2011 Clemson allowed 218 yards a game through the air. In year one, under Venables, that number increased to 240 yards per game.
Can this number improve in 2013? Once again I expect this defensive number to improve. There are a bunch of newcomers in the secondary and experience is missing. However, talent could be better and this unit will be better coached.
Total Defense
The 2011 Tigers allowed 394 yards a game in total offense. Last season that number grew by just two yards per game to 396 yards.
Can this number improve in 2013? I think we will see continued improvement from this defense. There is more talent and more experience this season. Venables had little to work with last season, but this defense should get better this season.
Scoring Defense
In 2011 Clemson allowed 29.3 points per game. In Venables first campaign we saw the Tigers improve to 24.8 points per game. I am still amazed at the improvement despite having less talent.
Can this number improve in 2013? I believe we will see improvement in this category as well. I am hopeful the improvement we saw from the first half of the season last year to the second half will continue.
Sacks
The offense went from allowing 33 sacks in 2011 to 31 last season. I think we will see this number fall again this season. The offensive line is better and Boyd will continue to get better at avoiding sacks.
On defense Clemson went from 24 sacks in 2011 to 34 last season. I also believe we could see this number increase this season.

is more experienced and I think we could see more productivity from both defensive ends. Also this linebacker corps is ready to make more big plays.
Special Teams
One area that will be hard to match is the place kicking.

The Tigers were 81st in the country in kickoff returns last season and 105th in punt returns. I would like to think those numbers will be fairly easy to see some improvement in 2013.
Finally, one of the most important statistics is turnover margin. Clemson has gone from -3 in 2010 to -1 in 2011 to +2 last season. Because ball security is preached and the defense could be better, I can see this number improving this season.
